Draft: not yet in force
This document is a draft waiting for legal review. Text in [brackets] is still to be filled in. This notice only shows outside production.
1. About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Anterra. Please read them. They include our Acceptable Use Policy, our Refund and Cancellation Policy and, if your apps handle other people's personal data, our Data Processing Agreement. Our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy explain how we handle your personal data.
Anterra is run by [Company name], a company registered in England and Wales (company number [Company number]). Our registered office is [Registered office address]. Our VAT number is [VAT number]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean [Company name].
You can contact us at support@anterra.io.
2. Who can use Anterra
- You must be 18 or over.
- At launch, Anterra is offered to people and organisations in the United Kingdom only.
- If you sign up for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it. "You" then means that organisation as well as you.
Consumers and businesses. You are a "consumer" if you use Anterra mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession. Otherwise you are a "business". Some parts of these terms apply differently to each, and we say where. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights.
3. What Anterra does
Anterra builds web apps from your plain-English descriptions. AI agents plan the app, write the code, test it and show it to you in a Preview. When you say so, we put the app live and keep it running ("hosting"). We also look after live apps: backups, monitoring, security updates and weekly upkeep.
We keep improving Anterra, so features change over time. If a change takes away something important that you pay for, we will tell you in advance (see section 15).
4. Your account and workspaces
- Keep your sign-in details safe. Turn on two-step sign-in if you can.
- Tell us straight away at security@anterra.io if you think someone else is using your account.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, and in workspaces you own, including what people you invite do there.
- Workspace owners control who joins, what they can do, and what the workspace pays for.
5. Plans, credits and prices
Plans
| Plan | Price | Credits each month | Live apps we look after |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | £0 | 400, plus 1,000 once when you join | None (apps stay in Preview) |
| Starter | £24 a month | 1,800 | 1 app |
| Growth | £65 a month (includes 3 people) | 5,000 | 3 apps |
| Business | £165 a month (includes 10 people) | 12,000 | 10 apps |
- On Growth and Business you can add more people at £12 each a month.
- If you pay yearly, you pay for 10 months and get 12.
- Add-ons (for example "Always on" at £16 an app a month) and their prices are shown in the Billing page before you buy.
- Prices are in pounds sterling. VAT is added where it applies, and the total including VAT is shown before you pay.
Credits
- Credits pay for the AI work that builds and changes your apps. Before a big piece of work we show you an estimate in credits.
- Your plan's credits are added at the start of each billing month. Credits you don't use by the end of the month do not carry over.
- Credit packs you buy separately (1,000 credits for £10, 5,000 for £45 or 20,000 for £165) can be used for 12 months after your latest pack purchase. We use your plan's credits first.
- On paid plans you can choose to keep building after your credits run out ("pay-as-you-go"), at £1 per 100 credits. It is off unless you turn it on. You can set a spending limit.
- Credits have no cash value. You can't transfer or sell them, and we don't refund unused credits except as set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy or where the law requires.
- Free plan credits are for trying Anterra. One Free account per person.
Paying
- Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. We charge the card or payment method you gave us at the start of each period.
- Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment provider. We never see your full card number.
- If a payment fails, we will tell you and try again. Your plan keeps working while we retry. If it still fails after 7 days, your workspace moves to the Free plan. Your apps stay in your workspace, but live apps beyond the Free plan's limits are paused (not deleted) until you pay or choose which to keep.
Price changes
We may change our prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies to you. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice ends. If you don't want to pay it, you can cancel before then.
6. Free retries when something goes wrong on our side
If a build fails because of a problem on our side (for example, our servers or an AI provider failing), we retry it for you automatically, and the failed work does not use your credits. If our retries also fail, we tell you, and trying again yourself is free.
This does not cover builds you stopped, or work that couldn't pass its checks because of what was asked for. If you think we got this wrong, ask us at support@anterra.io.
7. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from the Billing page. It stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then your workspace moves to the Free plan.
If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying. Because Anterra starts working for you as soon as you subscribe, we ask you at checkout to agree that we can start straight away, and to confirm you understand what that means for your right to cancel. The Refund and Cancellation Policy explains this in full, including how we work out a refund.
8. Your apps and your content
You own your apps
- Everything you put into Anterra is yours: your descriptions, messages, files, images, data and feedback ("your content").
- The code, designs and other material our agents create for your apps ("generated material") belong to you. To the extent we have any rights in generated material, we transfer them to you when it is created.
- You can download your app's code at any time from the app's settings, and take it elsewhere.
Exceptions. Generated material may include, or rely on, things that aren't ours to give you:
- open-source software, which stays under its own licence (the licences come with your code);
- verified building blocks from FunctionalWeave, which are licensed to you under their own terms for use in your apps;
- images made by AI, which you may use in your apps and elsewhere, but which may not be protected by copyright and may not be unique.
What you let us do
You give us permission to store, copy, run, test, change and show your content and generated material, but only as needed to provide Anterra to you and your team. This includes sending it to our providers, such as our AI providers, as described in our Privacy Notice. This permission ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups, which expire on their own.
We do not use your content or your apps to train AI models, and we do not let our AI providers do so.
Your responsibilities for your apps
Your apps are yours, so you are responsible for them and for how they are used. In particular:
- Check before you go live. Look at your app in Preview, and check it does what you need, before you put it live.
- The law for your app. You are responsible for making sure your app, and what you do with it, follows the law. For example, if it collects personal data, takes payments, sends marketing email, or works in a regulated area (such as health, finance or gambling).
- Your users' personal data. If your app collects personal data about other people (your customers, members or visitors), you decide what is collected and why. You are the "controller" and we handle that data for you as your "processor". Our Data Processing Agreement applies, and you accept it for your workspace on your app's Hosting page before going live.
- Your app's own terms and privacy notice. Anterra can draft these for your app, but you are responsible for checking them and for what they say.
- Payments in your apps go through your own Stripe account, under your agreement with Stripe.
9. AI output
Anterra uses AI. AI can make mistakes. In particular:
- Generated code, text, images, plans, estimates and answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even after our checks and tests pass.
- Our tests show that the things we tested worked at the time. They don't prove your app has no faults or is secure against every attack.
- Nothing Anterra produces is legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.
- Generated material may look like material made for other people. We don't promise it is unique or that no one else has rights in it.
We take reasonable care to keep the quality of our AI work high and to keep known security problems out of your apps. If you are a consumer, your legal rights about the quality of what we provide still apply (see section 13).
10. Using Anterra fairly
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. It says what you may not build or run on Anterra, and how you may not use Anterra itself.
11. When we may suspend or end your use
We may pause an app, a workspace or your account, or remove content, if we reasonably believe that:
- it breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
- it puts other people, our other customers or Anterra at risk (for example malware, phishing or an attack);
- we are required to by law or by a court, regulator or the police; or
- a payment is seriously overdue (see section 5).
We will normally tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. We won't when the risk is serious, when the law stops us, or when telling you would help someone cause harm. We will tell you why we acted unless the law stops us. You can appeal at /appeal or by emailing support@anterra.io, and a person will review it.
If the problem is serious or keeps happening, we may close the account. Before we close an account for anything other than illegal or harmful content, we will give you at least 14 days to download your apps and data.
12. Availability
We work hard to keep Anterra and your live apps running, but we can't promise they will always be available or free of faults.
- There is no service level agreement (SLA) on the Free, Starter, Growth or Business plans. A service level agreement, with credits if we miss it, is only available in a separate written contract.
- Live apps on every plan "scale to zero": when no one is using an app, it sleeps, and the next visitor may wait a few seconds while it wakes. "Always on" keeps an app awake.
- We sometimes need to do maintenance. We try to do it at quiet times and to announce planned maintenance on our status page at /status.
- If our AI provider has an outage, we may switch to a backup provider, or building may pause until it is back. Live apps keep running.
13. Our responsibility to you
If you are a consumer
- We must provide our services with reasonable care and skill, and digital content that is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If we don't, you have legal rights, for example to have it fixed or to get some or all of your money back. Citizens Advice can tell you more about your rights.
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it would happen or if we both knew it might happen when you started using Anterra.
- If digital content we supplied damages a device or other digital content you own, because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation.
- We are not responsible for business losses. If you use Anterra for a business, the business section below applies to that use.
If you are a business
- We provide Anterra "as is", and we exclude all terms implied by law (for example about quality or fitness for purpose) as far as the law allows.
- We are not responsible for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- We are not responsible for loss or corruption of data beyond restoring it from our most recent backup that is available.
- Our total responsibility to you in each 12-month period for everything arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim, and (b) £100.
For everyone
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law.
14. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. Your sign-in stops at once. We keep the account for 14 days in case you change your mind, then delete it, along with workspaces where you are the only member and their apps. Download anything you want to keep first.
- We may end these terms for you by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email, or straight away under section 11.
- If we end your paid plan without you having done anything wrong, we will refund the part of any fees you have paid in advance for the time after it ends.
- Sections 8 (ownership), 9, 13 and 16 continue after these terms end.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example to reflect changes to Anterra or the law. For important changes, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. If you don't agree, you can stop using Anterra and cancel before the change takes effect. If you are a business, carrying on using Anterra after that means you accept the change.
We keep a version date at the top of each document. Your Account settings show which versions you have accepted.
16. Other important terms
- Transfers. We may transfer this agreement to another organisation, for example if Anterra is sold. We will tell you, and your rights won't be reduced. You may only transfer it with our written agreement.
- No third-party rights. Only you and we can enforce these terms.
- If part is invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce something straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Entire agreement (businesses). If you are a business, these terms and the documents they refer to are the whole agreement between us about Anterra.
- Law and courts. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a business, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Complaints. Please contact support@anterra.io first. We will try to resolve any problem quickly and fairly.
